Tubby Black v. Lawrence Martin

The Post and Times have hit this White House with one news jolt after another. It’s like they’re back in their heyday of the Pentagon Papers and Watergate. Chiefly as a result of their work, a special counsellor is now probing the Trump administration’s Russia ties. Comparisons to Watergate are premature and overheated. But it is worth remembering how the deep-state institutions of the day brought down Richard Nixon who, like Mr. Trump’s political base, railed against eastern elites. But chiefly owing to a robust free press, this administration is being held to clear-eyed account, an account that is allowing the forces of normalization to make headway. If that’s what a deep state is about, the United States should be happy it has one.
–Lawrence Martin, Globe and Mail, May 24, 2017.

The Democrats and their attack dogs in the media and the jilted, bitchy nerds on the highbrow Republican right are left only with the withering delusion of the Russian-collusion canard, and their imperishable, wistful snobbery. The effort to scandalize the country with fake news started with the scatological Golden Shower of Moscow, and is now down to Dianne Feinstein demanding transcripts of the president’s Oval Office conversations with everybody, and the hollow pre-nightly-news bombshells of the Times and the Post. They scraped the bottom of the barrel last week with the Damascene revelation that the special counsel will wish to interview someone in the White House.

“Damascene?” Is the bottom of the barrel in Damascus? Or is this an attempt at a contemptuous harrumph? Maybe it’s has something to do with M’Lord’s “wistful snobbery”. In any case, the Golden Shower in Moscow was predated by the Pussy Grab by several months.

Is Crossharbour the National Review’s troll in residence?

    “Scatological golden shower”??

Road to Damascus? [ Acts Chapter 9: verse 3 As he traveled, it happened that he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him.]
One has been sent down the road to Washington, D.C.
The Other has been sent on the road to Toronto, Ont.

Who will see the “light” first.

Actually, I’m beginning to wonder about Larry Martin. This is pretty smarmy stuff, given that, by extension, him – I mean he’s not just some guy writing a letter to the editor, he’s a journalist himself.

Oh, right – he approves of the Best Journalism. Good to know.

Convict Black’s support for Trump will do even more lasting harm to his reputation than his criminal wrongdoings. A generation from now, people will view Trump’s supporters with as much disgust as we now regard the supporters of segregation.

Where the hell is Tub’s pardon? I can’t wait to get rid of the smug toady back to Palm Beach. The pardon would do the job the Government won’t do …get him and Babs outta here.

“…withering delusion of the Russian-collusion canard”

I am at a loss…does this refer to a person hallucinating about a species of Eastern European duck or the duck’s own hallucination?

I have to admit that l agree with Tubby in this exchange. The Russian fantasy is a lame excuse for Clinton’s loss. Trump and his appointees are committing real crimes for all to see. The mainstream media is doing a terrible job covering these.
