I have never thought that journalists should accept an award, let alone genuflect, before a queen, king or their surrogate. #MichenerAward

Andrew has won numerous national and international awards for his reporting. Among his many broadcast and writing awards, [is] the Canadian Association of Journalist’s Award for Investigative Reporting. His [“exposé”] of Canada’s spy service, Covert Entry, won the Arthur Ellis Award for the best work of non-fiction. He has also won Amnesty International’s Award for Human Rights Reporting.

    It’s the genuflecting Mitroshka objects to. Old journos have creaky knees, just like regular folks.

    You have to go back to 1995 to find Batshit’s award from Amnesty International. Something about sending jets to Turkey, our valiant allies in the Eternal War Against Terror(TM) http://www.amnesty.ca/get-involved/media-awards/amnesty-media-award-past-winners The Arthur Ellis Awards are for Mystery Writers. Non fiction is not their strongest suit.
