Stop the Presses! Lord Tubby’s Lolly for Liberals

Records reveal [Tubby] Black, a convicted felon who founded the National Post in 1998 to “create a national platform for Canada’s right,” made a substantial donation to Justin Trudeau’s Liberals in advance of the 2015 federal election.
– PressProgress, April 4, 2018.

Bad enough the CRA would impugn Tubby’s motives for the sale of the family digs, but…supporting documentation lays bare hundreds of pages of Tubby’s personal banking records for the cheap amusement of indecorous gawkers.
So let’s get right to it, shall we?…the most curious expenditure was a $1,500 cheque to the Liberal Party of Canada May 2015, perhaps a humble foreigner’s bid for sunnier ways on the immigration front – for all the good it’s done him so far.
– “Tubby and the Taxman,” Frank, June 24, 2016.

And as a “foreigner” he is not eligible to donate to Canadian political parties.

A big irony is that this comes to light from the National Post (founded by CB) is launching Canada’s first ever national database of donations made to politicians at the Federal and Provincial level over the past 210 years.

$1,500! Hah. A trifle, hardly enough for a colourful used sari!

A token of Crossmember’s devotion to Canadian democracy, shurely.
