They say that if you haven’t suffered for your art, it’s worthless. Good news for Marco MacLeod, then!
In case you missed it, Frank broke the news earlier this week that MacLeod, Premier Tim Houston’s Energy Minister, has a secret sideline as a rapper who spits violent, sexist and misogynistic rhymes. Can you believe that music written and performed by MacLeod had been hiding in plain sight on the internet since June 2023?
But when the story broke, MacLeod panicked and flushed everything down the memory hole. The Falls EP by Meadowville is no more. Wiped from Spotify. Scrubbed from Apple Music. Purged from Amazon.
The satirical press believes this represents an incalculable loss to the historical record. So we have committed to preserving what we can, limited only by the capacity of the Frank Legal Dept., the fair-dealing provisions of Canadian copyright law, and the dire shortage of forensic audio restoration technicians.
So, without further ado:

Quoth a release from Adsum House Women’s Shelter: “[W]e are sickened to learn of energy minister, Marco MacLeod’s… several violent and misogynistic songs. We are further appalled by the PC Caucus’s dismissal of the discovery by alluding to the songs as having been recorded several years ago when MacLeod was a ‘younger man’.
“There is no room for the ‘boys will be boys’ idiom that has long perpetuated violence against women in this province.”
Pitchforks on Reddit evoke memories of former Houston Justice Min Brad Johns opining in 2024 that violence against women wasn’t an epidemic. He was promptly bounced from cabinet.
