Muslim NHL player threatens to slit the throat of opposing player
Read his lips. [Toronto Maple Leafs forward] Nazem Kadri is threatening to murder [Calgary Flames’] Mark Giordano. Certainly he was caught up in the heat of the moment and isn’t really going to kill him, but as a Muslim, his cultural frame of reference is interesting. When you grow up hearing “When you meet the unbelievers, strike the necks” (Qur’an 47:4) and that sort of thing, even if you’re not all that devout yourself, it’s just possible that it might be in the back of your mind.

Chicago Black Hawks “Nick Boyton” was suspended for just one game by the perennially soft-on-terror NHL for throat-slashing gestures in 2006 and 2010, while fellow jihadists “Daniel Carcillo” (2010) of the Philadelphia Flyers and “Peter Worrell” of the Florida Panthers (2000) weren’t suspended for their throat-slashing gestures.
And who could forget the near fatal attack on Buffalo Sabres goalie Clint Malarchuck by a St. Louis Blues extremist in 1989.
Gee, I thought Kadri was signing “Call me”.
